Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons. Oh what a name to have! Don't we all secretly wish to be introduced with such a grandiose honorific when we walk into a room? What a grand entrance to make. I sometimes find myself daydreaming of being announced as I walk into a party. Well a girl can dream can’t she?
At her wedding, Daenerys receives three dragon eggs that had been turned to stone by the passage of time. When Khal Drogo (her husband) dies she constructs a funeral pyre for his body which she then steps into with the dragon eggs in tow. The following morning it is revealed that she survived the blaze, and three newly-hatched dragons are clinging to her body, the first three dragons in the world in a century and a half.
If that’s not inspiring enough to come up with a DIY I don’t know what is. After the end of season 1 there have been many posts about recreating Daenerys’ dragon eggs. Lucky for you, I found the easiest one. Follow this video link and pin away.
- Styrofoam Easter Eggs
- Thumbtacks (Silver and Gold)
- Start Pinning the thumbtacks onto the egg from top to bottom in a circular fashion.
- Tuck the last tack of the circle under the first.
- Once done, paint with nail-polish and let dry. Give it a second coat for best results.
