I love having food tags at all my parties, it saves me the trouble of explaining every dish to every guest. And it’s just simpler to label the food when you have guests with special dietary needs, its keeps the confusion out. Here’s what you’re going to need:
- Paper Doilies (4inch ones). I got mine from Target.
- A glue stick.
- Craft Paper/Construction Paper/Card Stock. Whatever you have on hand in whichever color you want will work.
I’m definitely going to make these in a pretty Pink for my next Parisian Themed Party or in a Blue for a Breakfast at Tiffany’s. They are just so easy to make and they look fancy as sh*t like I might have gotten them from a boutique stationary store. So go ahead make them in all the colors possible cause trust me your going to use them every chance you have. Hell use it as a gift tag or make it in a slightly bigger size and you have a greeting card or invitations for your next upscale event. It’s so damn versatile.
Now that you have what you need. Start by cutting the paper in 5inx4in or 5x5 depending on your sheet of paper (you don’t want to waste paper). Once you have those cut, fold each one length wise in half so you will be left with a rectangle that’s 4 inches wide and 2 ½ inches high. Fold the doilies in half too and glue the doilies onto the card. See, so simple. I told you I don’t do hours of manual hard labor. Once they are stuck together and the glue has dried, pile them up and put some weight on it maybe a book, you just want them to stay folded down until your party so when you do plonk them up in front of your food they hold their shape and stand up with their head high. Now go forth my darlings and make your own.
